Christmas Garage

You all have probably seen the commercial where the family is so grateful for their Dad's help that he gives them with various projects, they decide to deck out his garage for his Christmas present.

Well while Christmas shopping today I came across a website that sells tool cabinets and tool boxes that put the tool boxes in that commercial to shame! CarGuyGarage.com has every imaginable type of boxes available including portable ones and ones that can be built in to the garage.

So check their website out today and have a blast building your dream garage!

Proxy Sites Revisited

A few posts ago, I talked about proxy sites and the prospect of starting one or even a network.

After doing some research I have decided that I will do a couple proxy sites and depending on how they do, I will add more.

If you do not know what a proxy site is, they are sites that allow computer users to bypass firewalls or blocked sites on computers at schools, libraries, work etc. Most of these sites are free to use.

So why do them you ask? Well, in each site you carefully place your Adsense code and what I have found is that, on average, these proxy sites make about $1 - $2 a day. Not a killing, but enough to make it worth while if you had 10 or 20 of them.

Once I get them set up, I will layout what I did and how I did it.

Payday Loans: Good or Bad?

I don't know what you all think about Payday loans, but with the number of payday loan companies and stores around, there must obviously be a need for the service.

With recent legislation by states to control fees and term lengths, consumers have some protection from the bad places.

There is an online place that issues Payday loans that even offers a calculator to help you with the decision of taking out one of these short term loans. If one is taken out, all of the transactions go in your checking account for the deposit and out of it for payments on terms that both parties come to agree on.

So use this service wisely as the fees and balances can get large quickly!

Are You Ready for Christmas?

I don't know about you, but to me Christmas is about giving and not receiving. Besides, if you really want something, people usually get it when they want it and not hope that they get it Christmas morning, only to be let down that there 45,000 hints about the gift were overlooked.

My family likes to give the gift of food. You know cookies, pies, Christmas candy and breads. Although the kids for some reason don't find a loaf of freshly baked banana bread a really exciting gift to open on Christmas morning.

This is one reason I started another blog called Start Cooking Now! It is a blog about cooking, duh! It will have recipes, contest info, news about cooking tools and even results of my cooking adventures.

So won't you please visit today and take a look around and leave a comment on what you would like to see there. Thanks!

What is a Proxy Network?

That is exactly what I asked myself the first time that I had heard of it.

So after some research, I found out what a proxy network was. A proxy network is a website(s) that someone can use, while at work or school that has a firewall and blocks access to lets say MySpace.com, and allows these people to access MySpace through the firewall AND keeps your identity and trail basically invisible.

But what is the big deal you say? Well, it seems that these proxy site users click on adsense at a very nice rate and bring in a very nice income for the owners.

I am planning to research all of the ins and outs of this and may give it a shot soon. When and if I do, I will lay it out for everyone here to see and if it really brings in the cash.

New Online Coupon Site

Having just cut out about 65 coupons from my Sunday newspapers, I turned to my computer to find coupons online before my fingers froze up from the clipping. It is always good to find a great deal on something.

Lo and behold, I found this site with coupons and Coupon Codes. They offer online and in store coupons for a lot of the big stores like Macy's, Lillian Vernon and Old Navy. The navigation is easy and straight forward.

I hope you visit them because you will save some money.

Frugality at Christmastime

One of the things that I dislike about Christmas is that everybody thinks that the best gift is always the biggest, bestest and most expensive one. Well, I totally disagree with that concept and one of the Holiday rituals around our house is our big cooking days where we bake cookies, candies and breads for gifts to our friends and families. Nothing beats a homemade loaf of Banana Nut Bread in my opinion!

Some people may call it frugal or cheap, but I call it the best gift of all. A handmade gift means you took the time and a lot of thought and planning went into the gift instead of just clicking an order on the net and drop shipping it.

Our favorite cookie to make is called Monster Cookies, not because they are big or scary it is because of the amount of ingredients. To mix this recipe you need a work-a-holic of a blender to mix all of these ingredients. The ingredients and recipe are as follows:

  1. 2 1/4 cup Peanut Butter
  2. 1/2 lb butter
  3. 1 lb Brown Sugar
  4. 2 cups White Sugar
  5. 6 eggs
  6. 2 TBSP and 2tsp Corn Syrup
  7. 4 tsp Baking Soda
  8. 1/2 lb M&M's
  9. 1/2 lb Chocolate Chips
  10. 1/2 lb Walnuts
  11. 9 cups Oatmeal
Cream together first 7 ingredients then mix well with the nest 3 ingredients. Add Oatmeal and mix. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 -12 minutes.

So how is that for a bunch of ingredients. We actually burnt up 2 hand held mixers and our old Kitchen Aid stand mixer groaned at the job. But our new Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer, a part of the Eclectrics® Mixer line, does the job with no problem with its 400 watt motor, 12 speed settings and 2-way rotating head!

Since we have purchased it, I can not see using anything other than our Hamilton Beach® Mixer for any of our cooking and baking needs. It is just a great part of our Christmas tradition now!

New Stephen King Movie Starts Nov 21st!

On November 21st, The Mist by Stephen King, starts in Theatres across the United States. I, for one, can not wait to see it. Stephen King is the master storyteller and I am sure that his new suspense thriller The Mist is going to be more evidence of that.

I have been a huge fan of his since Carrie came out long ago. But also since then he has had numerous other smash hits at the box office. Among those are Christine, Pet Semetary, Children of the Corn, The Green Mile and my all time favorite movie - The Shawshank Redemption!

I am such a huge fan that when I visited his home town a few years ago, the number one thing on my to do list was to go by Stephen King's house. And I did! It is a mysterious looking house in its own right. I thought I would look dumb taking pictures of his house, but three other people were doing the same thing just in the few minutes I was there.

So don't forget about Stephen King's Upcoming movie The Mist and make a point to go see it. After you so stop back by and let me know how you liked it!

Where are all the Doublers?

I was going through my blogroll on the side bar today and noticed that there was about a 50% attrition rate and some that were severely delinquent in updating their doubling status. I know, I am one of that bunch, but it is very hard.

If a person truly dedicated themselves to that doubling project, I have no doubt that they could succeed at anything! The doubling project takes patience, perseverance, ingenuity and sometimes just out and out luck.

So, After going through the blogroll I have come to the conclusion that I will need to update it soon. Then I will find other fine blogs to take their place.

Please Visit the Alzheimer's Foundation eStore

As we approach this holiday season, a season filled with joyous memories and great friends and family please be aware of the thousands of people and their families that are stricken with Alzheimer's, especially of the caregivers of those afflicted with this disease.

If you don't know what Alzheimer's is, it is a "progressive, degenerative disorder that attacks the brain's nerve cells, or neurons, resulting in loss of memory, thinking and language skills, and behavioral changes" according to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America's website.

While finding a cure for Alzheimer's is a priority, providing essential quality care and quality of life for these people is also important. Some Alzheimer's patients enjoy the trained care from a nursing home or hospital, while others depend on family members to provide the needed care that they require.

For family members that provide quality care for their loved ones, the Alzheimer's Foundation is there for anything that they may need. They provide tips for care giving, provide resources, give help on therapy and tips for safety and long term care strategies.

This is why the Alzheimer's Foundation is asking for your help this holiday season. They are looking to help give support to these caregivers, so when you are looking for a holiday gift this Christmas, please visit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America eStore and show the caregivers that you care too.

All proceeds from the Alzheimer's Foundation of America eStore products support the programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and its member organizations. Their Hearts of Care jewelry is beautiful and would be enjoyed by whoever you gave it to and would be even more cherished when given to a caregiver of an Alzheimer's patient. They have a wonderful coordinated necklace and bracelet and a lapel pin as well

You can always give the gift of money to them as well. Just visit their website, The Alzheimer's Foundation of America and donate what you can. You never know, it may be your dollar that helps find a cure!

Ron Paul Could Save Us All $$$$

One of the biggest thieves of America's already shallow pockets is our own Government. It doesn't matter if it is the Federal or State Governments, they both are very good at figuring out ways to make our hard earned paychecks disappear.

In 364 days we will be voting for a new leader of the good ole USA. I have been truly in total disgust of our election system has worked the last 10 years or so, not how the actual system worked, but how people have voted. Do we not learn from our mistakes? Well, I hope so.

I have not voted the traditional Republican-Democrat ways the last few elections in hope of some logic would be voted into the White House. We can see that has not happened.

The next election though is bringing in a candidate that is not only making sense, but is garnering a huge following. I am talking about Ron Paul!

I know, I am not trying to push this down your throat or anything, but I am asking that you keep an open mind an read how he stands on the issues. I have put a link down below so you can check out his stances. Thanks.

The Purpose of This Journey

You may ask why I have decided to detail my escapades as I venture towards my goal of $1,000,000. And you may ask why I chose a million dollars.

The amount is arbitrary, it just sounded good and I hope that I would be able to live and make money off of that amount without going broke.

Why do I want to document it? Mostly as a way for me not to quit, but also in hope that I may encourage someone else to do this to.

I am not sure how I will keep track yet, but I am seriously thinking of building a website to keep track of all my ventures. I think that will be the easiest. My website will be called MyBlogGroup.com and will probably be up and running soon.

I would enjoy any comments or suggestions about my project, so feel free to contact me or just leave a comment.

How to Make a Fortune on Black Friday

This blog is all about saving and/or making money. One of the biggest events to make money by buying cheap and reselling higher is coming up in under three weeks.

This event is called Black Friday. If you don't know what Black Friday is, it is the day after Thanksgiving, in the States, that officially starts off the Christmas shopping season. At http://www.black-friday.net/ they have made it a whole lot easier for us to take advantage of these usually astronomically low prices that are gone quicker than Santa can say "Dash away All!"

In fact I did a post about this last year. Just click on this Black Friday link to last year's post to see an example of what you can accomplish with these great sales.

This year http://www.black-friday.net/ has out done themselves. Not only have they done their usual preparation of assembling all the circulars of big name stores like Circuit City, Home Depot and K-Mart, but now they provide links for the products so you can buy them online at the discounted prices and not have to stand in line at 5am like everyone else.

The site is easy to navigate and they will even notify you when a new circular is posted. So visit http://www.black-friday.net/ them today and get your Black Friday strategy set!

I have now bigger plans for them and I hope that you will enjoy them too. They are:

Mosaics 'n More - This is a blog I started to help give exposure to some of my mosaic art. It will still do that but will branch out to include other crafts. I will also feature other artist and their work.

Web Writers Cafe - This blog was started to highlight my writing I had done for Associated Content and Helium. I plan to still do that but will expand to also include tips for blogging and how to bring home some cash from it.

What Will Double2Mil Be Like Now?

That is a good question. Since I stopped doing the 28 steps, what will this blog be about?

Well, it will still be about that ultimate dream of being able to make the extra funds to make life easier. It will be about how to do it and where to get ideas. But it will also be about my life and things going on in it. It will be about happenings in the world and my feelings about them. Sometimes it will be about nothing, just strange babblings that may make me feel better.

As you have already seen, there will be sponsored posts. Something that I encourage all bloggers to try. There will be other ads and banners of various programs and products that I think someone may have an interest in.

So, in short this blog will be about anything and everything and hopefully will be entertaining for you.

Till next time.....

....and there was always PayPerPost!

One of the deciding factors to quit all of the fantasy Internet money making dreams was that in the back of my mind, I knew PayPerPost was there.

I first heard of PayPerPost about a year ago and I joined them. I grabbed every opportunity that they had available for me and they paid promptly. So, why did I stop using them? I don't know, all I know is that they paid me more in one month than the "professional blog network" paid me in 8 months!

As I blogged "professionally", I kept receiving updates from PayPerPost about all of the changes they were making and the new standards that they were setting. I am pretty sure that I was sort of jealous the whole time I was away, but I am here now to say that I am here to stay.

The opportunities that exist now compared to a year ago are so much better as PayPerPost as done a great job of securing advertisers for all of us bloggers to use. In fact the most successful blogger at PPP has brought in almost $18,000 just this year alone. Not to shabby!

Another reason that I like PPP is they give you, my readers, a chance to get a piece of the pie too! At the bottom of this post you will notice a button that says "Get Paid To Review My Post" and if you do you will get $15 just for giving blog reviews.

So I hope you enjoy my blog and if you are a blogger check out PayPerPost.

I Am Back!

If you haven't noticed, I have been sidetracked lately and have not posted as regularly as before. I apologize for that. Here is a short synopsis of what I have been up to lately.

After trying real hard to complete the 28 steps to double to a million dollars and enjoying the blogging thing I had started, I was swept away by the "be a professional blogger" opportunity. I was writing daily for two blogs and getting paid, that's what they call it anyway, but after 7 months of that it got harder and harder to "have" to write instead of the I "want" to write and I gave up on being a professional blogger, at least for someone else.

Somewhere in that time I was also swayed back into the "you can make millions on the Internet" again. It didn't take long to get disappointed again by the promises and hopes that they all drum up. I only wish I was as good a writer as they are. It was then that I realized that what I really liked doing was this and other personal blogs. I can still make money on these blogs, as you will probably see with future sponsored posts.

My next post will look a little more into what this blog will be about in the future.

Till next time.....
