Public Domain Works!

I have been very interested in the CD's Rachel from Doubling Challenge has been putting out and the success that she has had with them. So I have been doing research and plan on putting out some CD's myself.

I am a little stumped right now on how to get the info in the CD the way I want it, but I am sure I can figure it out. I will keep you updated on the progress and let you now when they are done.

I also will be doing some other different stuff in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.

Me and My HP!

OK doublers, here is another reason why you should join PayPerPost and get paid for something you are already doing! This post is about why I want to win a new HP digital camera and photo printer that is being given away by the great people at PayPerPost.

It's not so much the about the new camera, but about my first digital camera. It was a HP Photosmart c20 that I bought at the turn of the century(that sounds weird) in 2000 or maybe in 1999. Back then the resolution wasn't measured in megapixels just in quality of picture. The higher the quality, the more memory used. My camera used one, two or three diamonds to distinguish between the difference in quality.

HP was a leader in digital photography and an opportunity came along and I was able to buy this camera. It performed great as I used it for everything from posting pictures on eBay, taking pictures on family vacations or just quick shots of the family at home for the memory book. In fact my kids still use it today when they get into the picture taking mood.

Of course, advancements in photo technology have come along way since then and HP is still a leader in the digital photography arena. So with an opportunity to get another HP digital camera that would be great and definitely at the right price! And to throw in a picture printer is taking it over the top.

So Ted, on behalf of my family, this is me humbly groveling( grovel, grovel) hoping that this post will win us the HP photo gear and give us many more memories to share!

Thanks Ted and Merry Christmas to you and everyone at PayPerPost!

RockStartup.com Is LIVE!

RockStartup.com is LIVE! RockStartup.com is the reality TV drama about the day to day happenings at the new internet company called PayPerPost. They actually have three episodes available already and previews of the fourth. Each episode is eight to ten minutes or so long.

Most of the time the focus is on the head honcho of PayPerPost, Ted. He gives insight on his thoughts, shows interaction between him and his employees and basically shows the day to day happenings of a web 2.0 company.

The only thing that I wish Ted would have included more of is when he was actually out begging for dollars from venture capitalists. The show starts out with "well I just got $3,000,000 from VC's" and goes from there. It would have just been neat to see his pitches and groveling!

As a doubler, and hopeful future big shot business owner, I have found this series pretty insightful and entertaining though. It doesn't get to indepth which may have made it boring and shows that a sense of humor is relevant in the work place.

So go to RockStartup.com and see for yourself, or better yet, join PayPerPost and be a part of it. Whatever you do, I know that you will enjoy this real time adventure!

Work at Home!

I am curious as to how many of my doubling friends actually work at home full time or just do the doubling thing on the side.

I know that a goal of mine is to be able to leave my job someday to work at home. Right now I work rotating swing shifts and it really is getting old. I work 12 hour shifts for four days then get four off, just to come back and work four nights. It is havoc on a persons internal clock.

Recently, I came across a site that will help you work at home with a step by step guide on mastering affiliate programs. So check it out today and start working at home too!

The Amazing Internet!

Just a little note to let you know I have started an entertainment blog called The Amazing Internet. Because it can't be all work, work, work, I have to decided to start this blog to be able to go to and just laugh or whatever. Just to escape for a little while. So I hope you enjoy it!

I have nothing to add to my stake lately as far as loose change and such. I will keep you posted on my progress with the programs I am working with now.

FreePay.com

Ok doublers, here is another great opportunity to add some smack to your stack!

FreePay.com is a pay for performance company unlike any other. Most of these companies you have to do several offers that then take you to what seems like a million surveys, just so you can get a measly fifty or seventy-five cents. Big snookerdoodles!

At FreePay.com all you have to do is complete just ONE offer and then have the appropiate number of referrals, then you can claim your gift. The number of referrals depends on how big the gift you want is. Now how easy is that!

I know, you are saying that this is some fly by night outfit, out to make a buck off of us. Well, let me tell you this, FreePay has been around for five years and has given out more than $14 million in products so far!

So what kind of gifts can you get? Well, how about these: iPods, laptops, X Boxes, PS3's giftcards and many, many more.

So, click here to choose a free gift!

Oh and by the way they even pay for the shipping, so you could probably do this without even using your stake and profit from selling it or something like that. Good Luck!

Take The Internet Back!

I wanted to add a little more about the Take The Internet Back program.

I am really excited about this idea. After being burned a few times by the "next great internet money maker", this program has the makings of something huge. Let me tell you about it.

The basic idea is the owners of the site generate income from advertisers. The advertisements are shown to the members(you and me) and in return for looking at the advertisements you are rewarded points. These points are then used like shares in the company.

The revenue is divided into three parts, 45% for to the shareholders(you and me), 45% for future internet investment and 10% for administrative fees. What an innovative idea!

And you get all of this for free! Plus they throw $10 in your account to start with. You can't beat that.

So go to TakeTheInternetBack.com today, check it out and sign up. Remember it is FREE!

A Little Christmas Cheer!

With only 13 days till Christmas, I can hardly hold back my excitement. I love Christmas and all that it stands for. I truly wish that everyday was like Christmas because some people are totally different(for the good) this time of year.

So to help spread some holiday cheer I have included a little something to share with you that you can pass on to your family and friends.

Here is North pole dancing for your pleasure. This is brought to you on behalf of OfficeMax.

Have a very Merry "Doubling" Christmas!

PayPerPost

A few posts ago, I mentioned that I was investigating other avenues of income. One of those that I was looking at is called PayPerPost and I am very excited about this opportunity.

I know you are saying that I am selling out, but not true. Why not get paid for something you are already doing. In my post, "A Little More", I stated that I was going to expand my entries to include more than just doubling news and PayPerPost is a perfect accomplice to help me do this.

Basically, PayPerPost list advertisers willing to pay you to write about their site or blog. The payments are between $4.00 and $20.00. There are certain requirements for each post and blog that is involved, but I encourage you to check this opportunity out.

I am planning on averaging $20.00 per week. So that is over $1000 that will go to my stake and that is just from this blog. I plan on expanding my blog inventory, therefore adding even more to my stake! The top producing blogger has earned over $3600 so far!

I will keep you updated on my earnings and feeling about PayPerPost.

Let It Snow!

It is winter in Michigan now. I have always said that if it is going to be cold, might as well have snow to go with it to brighten things up. Well, that's all fine and dandy, but really hinders the finding loose change.

At Step 15 though, depending on finding loose change on the ground is really not feasible for the long run. It would take years to finish this step. So I have started other ventures to help add to my stake. Below is an update of the totals for this month so far. This is just for an update and not to be added to my stake yet. These programs have minimum amounts you need to achieve before they will send you the dough.

Treasure Trooper - $5.25
InboxDollars - $8.10
Take The Internet Back - $10.00

So that is a total of $23.35 in a little over a week! Not to bad for just looking at emails and doing surveys! I will keep you updated on my progress every so often.

New Money Makers!

I just wanted to share with you some new money making programs that I am doing right now to help add to my stake. They won't make millions, but will add slowly and also give me a daily/weekly routine to perform.

The first two are similar as that they both share links so you can sign up for offers and they share the money made from them. But I don't do those "cash offers" or sign up for anything that requires a purchase. Below I have listed the two programs and what I do at each.

At Treasure Trooper they have a daily survey that I complete, if I qualify. I usually qualify 75% of the time. You receive $.75 for each survey completed. Not much, but it adds up.

InboxDollars is the same thing but all I do their is the get paid to read email. It is real simple. They send you an email, you open it and click the link and the ad pops up. You close out the add and you are done. That is it! You get paid and average of $.04 an email. Really small but this adds up too, plus they give you $5.00 just to sign up, can't beat that!

The other program that I do was shown to me by Rachel, a fellow doubler, at DoublingChallenge. The program sounds promising and it is FREE! At TakeTheInternetBack they have an interesting plan. They sell ads, that are viewed by the members(you), then share the revenue from those ads with its members. They take 10% and share 90% with the members plus they give you $10 to join. Visit them today and see how you can own the part next big internet success. Remember it is FREE!

I have others that I am still checking out and will share with you later.

Half Way There!

Today I returned 37 bottles and cans and found a penny in the parking lot on the way in to the store. So with that I have completed Step 14 and I am half way in completing my doubling project.

Yes, I know that I am still along way from completing my project, but it is nice to hear the words "half done"!

I know the work is just starting, but will also be getting more interesting! Can't wait!

Treasure Trooper!

I have been a member of Treasure Trooper for a few months now and have decided that I will add any money I make from Treasure Trooper to my stake. I have made $68.62 so far in the few months that I have been a member there. That money has not been added to my stake.

If you are not familiar with Treasure Trooper, it is a site that provides links to you. These links go to surveys, cash offers and the like. When you satisfactorily complete a survey or cash offer then you are rewarded with money.

I will not do the offers where you have to buy anything to get a refund, all of my proceeds will most likely come from doing daily surveys. These surveys pay .$75 each and are available daily. That could add $20 or so to your stake each month. Which will help a lot for those just starting out. So give it a try and add a little to your stake. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask.

Well, Wal-Mart was good to me last night. I found a two pennies, in different spots, in the parking lot and a dime near the crane machine. A nice little $.12 to add to my stake. I have enough bottles to finish Step 14, just have to remember to take them back!

Balance - $80.01 + $.12 = $80.13

$1.79 from Completing Step 14!

Black Friday - A Great Opportunity To Double!

Just a thought for all of the doublers and moneymakers out there. This Friday, otherwise known as Black Friday, is a fantastic opportunity to grab a great deal somewhere, resell it and double your investment or more!

Most ads for the after Thanksgiving sales are available at a website called bfads.net. For example, Circuit City has a Sandisk 1GB Secure Digital Memory Card for $2.99! The regular price is $59.99. A whopping $57 savings!

Now keep in mind that most of these deals involve rebates, early bird specials and quantity limits, but they are quite worth it.

For instance, I have $80 in stake that I could invest. Each memory card has a instant $30 rebate, so the starting price is $29.99. So I can buy two with the stake that I have. Now that is $59.98 out of my stake, leaving $20.02.

Send for the two $27 dollar rebates and my stake is now at $74.02. Sell the two memory cards, probably by just word of mouth, for a savings of $20 to your customers and now you have $79.98 to add to your stake, bringing the grand total to $174.02! Now since I've more than doubled my stake I get to put $14.02 into my pocket!

What a deal!!! Too bad I have to work that morning!

But, something has come out of this even though I can't participate. I have started a service that may help out people like me,who can't make it to these kind of sales, or auctions and the like. Please visit FindIt4U and see what my new service is all about. I would appreciate any comments you may have as far as improving the service or maybe a different approach.

Well enough for now.

Took back 97 bottles and cans today. This brings me real close to completing Step 14 which is half of the steps in the doubling plan! $80 is far from half of a million though, but being half done sounds real good.

A Little More!

Well, I found $.08 at work today that I can add to my stake.

I have always wanted to have a blog to just spew about something or comment on the world's state of affairs, but I don't think I would have time or enough material to dedicate to a stand alone blog.

So, I may start adding a few entries here to help break up the monotomy that is doubling.

Nothing else to add today except to go out and VOTE!

Review of Rules!

There is a handful of people doing the doubling system right now. We basically have the same goal - Start with nothing and end up with $1,000,000 or whatever the goal is.

I visit the other doublers' blogs to keep up on their progress. After reviewing the blogs I found one thing inconsistent between all of us. We each interpret the rules differently. I use all of the rules as they were written by Mr. Goldsmith. Some doublers pick and choose from these rules and some have just made up their own.

This is no big deal to me, but it moved me to review the rules and make sure that I remembered them. Upon this review one of the rules stuck out as the most hardest to follow. That rule is #10!

Rule #10 states - You must use only the stake money, not 'stolen' or 'hidden' resources.

What was met by the creator of this rule was that a person could not use an office copier to make copies of prints that you were going to sell in the doubling effort. In the true doubling effort, you would create the art( or work) yourself, then pay the photocopying store the fee to copy them. Anything different from this would be deemed 'stealing' or 'cheating'.

Wow, that is pretty harsh isn't it? If you think about it, I don't think it is. I believe each rule is there to help develop a great business sense and planning ability. If you rely on 'stealing' or 'cheating' to keep your business going, you will probably end up like Enron or WorldCom!

So as I move on in this effort, I will be create something of value and will be wanting to exchange it for money, hopefully making a profit. As I do this Rule #10 will be my guiding light in creating a smart and just business.

Happy Halloween!

I was making a quick trip to Wal-Mart for a few things. As always, I was searching the parking lot for loose change. Just as I was going to give up, I found 2 pennies and quickly put them in my chain maille bag.

Slowly but surely I am getting to the end of Step 14. Winter will soon be here, so the loose change in the parking lot may be getting a little more scarce then it already is .

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween. This project reminds me of a gentleman whose house we used to go to as a kid. He didn't hand out candy to us, but instead, he threw a handful of pennies into our bags, much to our disgust too. Now if I could only remember where he lived!

Took back my last big batch of bottles from work and received $18.70. Now that the contractors from my work are gone, the bottles from there will be slim pickens.

Also found 3 pennies at Burger King after I took bottles back. So maybe my karma is back, will have to go looking tonight and find out. One thing is for sure and that is after this step I will have to find another way to raise money!

False Alarms!

I have been diligently looking lately, but, besides some cans and bottles I have collected(and yet to return), I have come up empty. Unless you can count false alarms.

You know! The glob of gum gleaming in the sunshine that looks just like a brand new quarter. Or the rolled up receipt that has a coupon printed on the back that highly resembles a crisp dollar bill.

One of my daughters found a dollar bill in the hall at school Friday. So I suspect the Karma has drifted from me to her for the time being. Can't wait for it to come back!

I have also added a new doubler to our family of doublers. Please welcome ZTAM and give loads of encouragement, good luck and wisdom and visit his blog often.

Me, Myself and Bottles!

As so it feels lately. Thanks for an abnormal amount of outside contractors at my workplace, the bottle business is thriving. I have collected bottles and cans the last two nights and I took them back this morning and received $6.20 for my 15 minutes of dumpster diving.

So, with the lastest returns, I have completed Step 13! Yeah for me!!!

The extra workers around here will only last for the next couple weeks, so I am hoping that I can finish Step 14 by then. At that point I will need to find another way to increase my stake, so it won't take forever to complete.

The Science Of Getting Rich!

Again, my mentor(if he doesn't know it, he will now!) in this doubling effort, Gerard from Double Your Way To a Million blog, has opened my eyes to what I believe to be a very deep hidden secret. It is not in so much a secret, but that it was written almost a hundred years ago and was definitely way ahead of its time.

I am talking about the book written by Wallace D. Wattles, The Science Of Getting Rich, which was written in 1910! I have just finished reading it myself, and know from what I have read that this is good stuff.

I have put a link in the right sidebar to the website where you can get your own, FREE, copy of this book for yourself. Do it now, it is a fabulous read!

More Bottles!

Just a quick note to let you know that I took back more bottles yesterday. 35 bottles and 36 cans for a total of 71.

So I can now add $7.10 to my stake.

Balance - $32.83 + $7.10 = $39.93 $1.03 from Completing Step 13!

My Chainmaille Bank!

I have nothing to report as far as increasing my stake. I do have some cans and bottles to take back in the next couple of days though.

I wanted to share with you how I keep my money safe. A couple of years ago I started making chainmaille. Chainmaille is a very old artform. It is most predominately first noted in the ages of the knights and kings in England. They sewed large rings together for armor to protect them selves in battle. I have made rings, bracelets, earrings, coifs and bags.

When I first started this journey, I was not sure where I would keep my collections. Then I remembered a small bag I had made with chainmaille. It would be the right size, not to bulky and something I could hide away from everyone. I have added a picture of a similar bag for you to look at. The one I made is the same size, but has a blue and red stripe around it. Mine took about 10 hours to make. That time is just for connecting the jumprings together. It would have taken a few hours more if I had made the jump rings by myself as a lot of the chainmaille artists do.

So today I was thinking that there will be a time when the pouch will not be large enough or I will need to do transactions with a checking account. When that time comes, I think I will use this pouch to help complete a step. So save your pennies to have your chance to get my Double2Mil pouch.

Other peoples trash...!

I took back another load of bottles last night. I had 35 cans and 65 bottles for a grand total of 100, which I received crisp new $10 bill to add to my stake. I am enjoying the huge increases in my stake from the bottles, but understand it won't last for ever. But I will worry about that when that time comes. Until then, thanks to everyone for thinking the bottles are just trash.

Other Doublers!

I added links to other doublers that have a blog/website.

One thing that I noticed is that we all have different rules, different ways of collecting money and live in different parts of the world. But we do have one goal in common and that is to make money by doubling.

I hope that we can all learn from each other and gain confidence, inspiration and also to cheer each other on.

Pennies From Heaven....

About 100 actually!

Again, just walking around and not looking for anything, I stumbled across a dollar bill lying on the ground. There was no one around the area to claim it, so I did!

I have collected more cans and bottles from work and will be taking them in soon to claim the deposit. It is not as much as last time, but enough to make a dent in completing the next step.

Made It To Wal-Mart!

I finally made it to Wal-Mart to return the bottles I had collected from work this past week.

I have to admit that taking sticky, dirty and nasty pop bottles back to the store is not my favorite thing to do. Taking three or four garbage bags back at a time probably adds to my dislike of this chore and just makes it that much worse the next time I take them back. The evolution of bottle return has gone from the consumers favor, to that of the retailer.

It used to be that the store employees would have to sort through the cans and bottles and count them in order for you to get your deposit back. But, technology has put that burden back on the consumer with the new fangled bottle return machines that have come out on the market lately.

Anyway, back to the task at hand. As mentioned above I returned the bottles and received $10.90 for my efforts last week. This amount will be added to my stake.

That means that I have completed Step 12 and have started towards completing Step 13!

Step 12 Complete! Balance $10.93 + $10.90= $21.83

$19.13 from Completing Step 13!

Work, Work, Work!

Wow, I would like to apologize for the delay in posting but my work has kept me very busy. I have worked 64 hours already and have another 12 for today!

But one good thing has come of this. While at work I have been collecting empty pop bottles. Lots of them. It is surprising that the people at work are just throwing away money like this!

I know, it's only a dime! You are correct but, I have collected quite a few of them in the last week. I will turn them in at Wal-Mart in the next day or so and will let you know how I did. I may have enough to finish this step! We will see.

Off To The Park

Today I decided to go to the local park and go diving in the trash cans for pop bottles.

Well, the first thing I learned was to call the city and find out when they dump the cans in the park. Why you ask? Because all of the cans (10 or so) has absolutely nothing in them. Dang, just my luck. I will try again like Sunday evening or so.

With two bottles from work and $.30 I found in the Blockbuster parking lot today, I have added $.50 to my stake.

Balance - $10.43 + $.20 + $.30 = $10.93

$9.55 from completing Step 12!

Coke, Pepsi and Mountain Dew!

To help speed up my progress to complete Step 12, I have decided to add bottle collection to my revenue stream.

In my state, Michigan, each pop, beer and energy and juice drink can/bottle has a $.10 deposit charged when you buy it. When the beverage is gone, you take it back and get your dime back. Should make my stake grow a bit faster. ( Read about "The Bottle Return" episode from The Seinfeld Show.)

To be fair, I have set a rule to follow when I collect bottles and it is that it can not be one that me or my family had originally purchased. It must be given to me or found by me. So, off to increase my stake.

Money Saving Tips!

I was surfing the web, trying to develop some ideas that I may be able to use to double my stake and ran across the No Credit Needed Blog. They are running a Your Very, Very Best Money Saving Tips contest and after much thought I have decided to enter.

Why did I have to think about entering? Well I didn't just want to plop down any money saving tip and leave it at that. I also wanted it to be one that may be used for me or someone else to be able to complete a step in their doubling project. So here it is!

My Very, Very Best Money Saving Tip......................Garage Sales!

Garage sales are especially great for children and baby clothes. Kids out grow clothes faster than they can wear them out. Therefore you can usually get fairly new clothes at bargain prices. Also, the more affluent neighborhoods tend to have unbelievable deals.

A way that garage sales can help you complete a step in doubling is by buying cheap and selling high. Try visiting some garage sales and buying stuff cheap. Now take it home and have your own yard sale, but mark up the prices(double, maybe?) and boom it shouldn't take long to complete the step.

I want to thank No Credit Needed for throwing the contest and hope they reach their goal of 100 money saving tips.

By The Way

I added Gerard's Blog to the Blogroll. Gerard was my springboard into this project. He is very insiteful and quite a good blogger.

I suggest you look at Gerard's recommended reading for books to add to your list if you have not read them.

I wish Gerard the best of luck in his endeavor and a big thanks for his inspiration.

Why Am I Doing This?

I meant to address this earlier, before I actually started the project, but put it on the back burner til now.

So why am I doing this? For Fame and Fortune? Fortune, maybe, not so much fame. Some remarks I have seen are "this will take forever", "too many steps" etc...

Here are the main reasons I am doing this.
  1. Money - If I complete all 28 steps then I know I will have enough cash to live off of for a very long time, for me and my family, very comfortably.
  2. Goals - I have never really been much of a goal setter in my life. With this project, I will have to set short and long term goals and achieve them. Much like any business has to do to survive.
  3. Helping Others - If any one thing in this helps just one person, than it will have been worth it.
  4. Develop Writing Skills - I have always wanted to write a book/screenplay. I hope that this will give my mind enough exercise to develop a unique and entertaining style.

That is basically why I am doing this. I hope all who visit will come back and see my progress and cheer me on.

By the way I found nothing to add to the stake today.

Blogroll Added!

I have added a blogroll of some interesting blogs I have found on the net since I have started this project. Expect this number to increase as I look for more information and ideas to double my stake.

Feel free to let me know of any blogs that you know of that you feel may be helpful.

I Will Teach You To Be Rich gives honest, straight forward money saving advice. Ramit Sethi writes his blog aimed at college students, recent grads and other young people. Well this forty-two year old young person particular likes the Friday Entrepreneurs column. So visit it today and enjoy.

Everybody Loves Your Money is a collection of tidbits on sound financial ideas and some are pretty funny too!

Dryspell Broken!

Well, somebody let the air out of the parachute! It was a dry few days as my searches found nothing.

When I first started, I was not used to looking for money and it was poppin' up all over the place. Now that I have trained myself to look everywhere, all of the time, I can't find anything! What's the deal? Oh well.

My dryspell finally ended last night as I found a dime in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Yeah!

Barring a huge find this step will definitely take a little longer to complete then the first few. But, I am an optimist and know that I will complete this step and the whole project.

My dilemma right now is if I should just stick to the penny here a penny there concept or move on to some kind of new investment strategy.

If I move to something new, I have a good chance of getting set back a few steps if the new strategy doesn't work out. Plus, I really don't have enough stake money to buy anything to resell or something like that.

I have enough to buy 3 packs of sports cards and try to sell them, but that is almost a crapshoot.

A few years ago I sold cinnamon toothpicks online and did fairly well. But the minimum purchase was a case and that is over $100. So maybe I'll save that for some later step.

I think I will just be a parking lot cleaner for awhile. At least till this step is over.

Balance - $10.33 + $.10 = $10.43

$10.05 from completing Step 12!

Don't Forget About Work!

Was walking around at work today and found a quarter and six pennies to add to my stake money. Hope it keeps going like this, it is making the Steps go quickly, another one down!

Although I may have to change my strategy in a couple steps, cause completing Step 13 by finding pennies may take awhile. But, Rule #7 says not to worry about that till I get there, so I won't. In fact I may have to do something different for Step 12! Yikes!

Step 11 - Complete!

Balance - $10.02 + $.01 + $.01 + $.01 + $.01 + $.01 + $.01 + $.25 = $10.33

$10.15 from completing Step 12!

Leapfrog!

Went to Wal-Mart last night to pick a few things up. The trip was pretty much uneventful until I left.

On the way out something caught my eye on the way to the car. I did a double take and it looked like a dollar bill. No way I thought to myself. But I was shocked after I picked it up.

It wasn't a dollar bill. It was a $5 dollar bill. As I unfolded it, I discovered another one! $10!!! Holy cow! I looked around and no one was looking for anything. I found it in the middle of a parking spot and the adjacent spots were open, so it wasn't hidden from everyone.

It is strange, since I have started this, how money has just started showing up. Is it because I am actually looking for it now or is some other force helping?!

I had to hide my enthusiasm from my kids as my family does not know anything about my project. If they did, this $10 would be gone by now!

If you have read Stuart Goldsmith's report(see earlier links), you know that if you find money it can be added to your stake money and immediately leapfrogs you to a new step.

So with that and my current balance, I have leapfrogged to Step 11!

Also add a penny I found at the gas station after we left Wal-Mart.

Step Two - Ten - Complete! Balance - $.01 + $.01+ $10.00 = $10.02

$.22 from completing Step 11!

Here We Go!

Now that I am all caught up on the background for this project, I decided to start my journey a few days ago while on vacation with my family.

We went to the Mt Olympus Water and Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI. It was part of my daughters' birthday present. I pondered on whether to start then or after our trip, but figured a large theme park like this would be a great start for my project. ( Also try the famous "Duck Boats" if you are ever in the Wisconsin Dells)

As we walked in to the park, the screams of frantic ride goers and smells of carnival sweets filled our noses and set the kids wanting to go in ten different directions. This pandemonium fogged any memory of starting my project.

As we were standing in line for some goodies, the 'magical' first penny caught my eye on the ground in front of me. A big rush of "accomplishment" filled within me and a huge smile went on my face.

A new sense of priority was instilled into me with the discovery of that penny, and now my mission was to find more! But, sad to say I ended the day with just one penny. No matter I will find more!

Step One - Complete! Balance - $.01

Rules 10, 11, 12 & 13!

There are 13 rules altogether that will guide me through this project.

Today we will go over Rules 10, 11, 12 & 13. Further explanations and examples are included on Mr. Goldsmiths report. Find It Here!

Rule 10 - You must use only the stake money, not 'stolen' or 'hidden' resources.

Rule 11 - If you fail on a step, you must drop down to the step that corresponds to the remaining money you have.

Rule 12 - You are allowed to add labor.

Rule 13 - Use the stake money to create a value which you can sell for more.

Till next time.....

Rules 7, 8 & 9!

There are 13 rules altogether that will guide me through this project.

Today we will go over Rules 7, 8 & 9. Further explanations and examples are included on Mr. Goldsmiths report. Find It Here!

Rule 7 - Don't worry about how you are going to manage future doublings. Concentrate only on the current doubling.

Rule 8 - You are not allowed to spend one penny of the money(apart from the stake) until you have completed Step 28! (This is probably the hardest rule!)

Rule 9 - You must not divert money into the system which you would have got anyway had you not been doing the system!

Till next time.....

Rules 4, 5 & 6!

There are 13 rules altogether that will guide me through this project.

Today we will go over Rules 4, 5 & 6. Further explanations and examples are included on Mr. Goldsmiths report. Find It Here!

Rule 4 - If your current step results in more than doubling, then you must spend the surplus on yourself.

Rule 5 - If your current action results in less than doubling, then you may use as much of the original stake and profit to complete this step.

Rule 6 - You must keep a Diary of events. (This is my Diary)

Till next time.....

Rules 1, 2 & 3!

There are 13 rules altogether that will guide me through this project.

Today we will go over Rules 1, 2 & 3. Further explanations and examples are included on Mr. Goldsmiths report. Find It Here!

Rule 1 - You must find or be given(without asking) the first $.01! You can not use one of your own pennies.

Rule 2 - You must use only the stake money during the current doubling attempt.

Rule 3 - During the first fifteen steps, you must use the actual coins and/or bills gained in the preceding step.

How Double2Mil Came About!

I can't remember exactly the first time I heard this story, but it has always fascinated me. It goes something like this.

A boy goes into a local store and asked the owner for a job. The owner tells the boy that he isn't hiring at this time.

The boy then thanks the owner and leaves. The boy comes in everyday to see if there is an opening, only to leave again rejected.

Finally after a week of this the boy tells the owner that if he hires him, he will start out at $.01 a day as long as the owner would double that everyday for 30 days.

The owner thinks for a second (laughing in his head at the kid) and agrees to the deal.

Well, as the story goes, 30 days later the store owner handed the kid the keys to the store because he was unable to pay the boy the wage that they had agreed upon.

I was dumbfounded by this and immediately started doing the math. WOW! Even after I had it figured out, it still seemed impossible.

Check out this link that provides a similar story written by Cindy Lanius.

Cindy's Story

So after a recent search on Google about this topic, I only came up with one relative match beside Cindy's paper. (This almost astounded me more than the story did.)

It was a blog about a man, who started with nothing and was doubling his money to a million dollars. He his the inspiration for this blog. Please check out Gerard's progress at the following link.

Gerard's Blog

Gerard's inspiration was a report written by Stuart Goldsmith entitled "How to Double Your Way to Million in 28 Steps". You may read this report in the following link.

Stuart Goldsmith's Report

Mr Goldsmith is the author of 'The Midas Method', 'Seven Secrets of the Millionaires" among others. After reading this report, I too, decided to embark on a mission to double my way to a million dollars, starting with absolutly nothing.

In future posts on Double2Mil, I will go over the rules that have been set by Mr. Goldsmith that will guide me in my endeavor. Once the groundrules have been set, I will keep you posted on my progress, what I have learned along the way and whatever else that may cross my path on this journey to a million.

Feel free to post comments or to start you own doubling effort. Till next time...
